Accountabilities

As a Senior Backend Engineer in Infra Engineering, you will drive architectural excellence and operational efficiency across the platform. Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain high-load backend services with Node.js, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and product teams to enforce standards, best practices, and architectural guidance.
  • Develop internal tooling, libraries, and frameworks to streamline engineering workflows.
  • Respond to production incidents and troubleshoot complex system issues across distributed environments.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from discovery to deployment, contributing to system design and implementation.
  • Coordinate projects and initiatives across multiple engineering teams to achieve business and technical goals.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines technical mastery with problem-solving skills and cross-team collaboration experience. Required qualifications include:

  • 7+ years of experience in backend engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js and experience building scalable backend services.
  • Proficiency with AWS or similar cloud environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL) and messaging systems (RabbitMQ/NATS/Kafka).
  • Strong system design, problem-solving skills, and the ability to tackle complex, "unknown" challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills to orchestrate initiatives across 20+ teams.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting ability and readiness to handle production incidents.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building internal tooling such as npm packages or frameworks.
  • Previous work on developer platforms or infrastructure libraries.
