Overview

Join to apply for the Senior Backend Engineer role at Feeld. This is a remote role with a focus on core product engineering for Feeld's mobile app and backend systems to deliver new features and updates for Members.

What you will do

• Work with a squad of engineers to build and improve core product pillars such as onboarding, discovery, chat, and Member care experiences.
• Build experiments, features and fix issues aligned with squad goals.
• Support engineers within your squad and the wider team by sharing knowledge of full-stack development.
• Collaborate with peers across the business to ensure a fully supported user experience, including back-office tooling, security/compliance features, and data/analytics capabilities.
• Monitor and review current systems and services; propose and implement changes to address technical debt.

About you

• Experience with scalable and distributed systems, focusing on performance and reliability. Familiar with microservices, event-driven architecture, message queues, and serverless functions.
• Knowledge of React Native mobile app debugging and feature contribution.
• Comfortable with cloud providers (e.g., AWS) and their consoles.
• Strong collaboration and code-review skills, able to give and receive constructive feedback in pull requests.
• Committed to delivering value to Members and understanding the "why" behind features; able to collaborate with product and QA.
• Attention to detail in user experience and API design.
• Experience with live production apps using GraphQL and DynamoDB.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders on product and design requirements.
• Effective in remote and distributed teams with open communication and strong connections with colleagues.
• Strong software architecture mindset and implementation skills for distributed systems.

Baseline Freedom Salary: £60,000 GBP per year. Total cash compensation varies by level, step and location. Estimated compensation for this role is between £70,000 to £120,000 GBP, depending on requirements and location.
