The role:

The work performed will be varied and activities include front-end conceptual studies, detailed design, operational support and decommissioning activities. The role will be to perform CFD simulations assessments based on client standards and drivers and be able to efficiently communicate these solutions through calculations, technical reports and presentations.
\n
The engineer will be required to interface directly with clients, undertake marketing and business development activities where relevant, represent Genesis within industry working groups and also work in a single-discipline supervisory capacity as well as be part of a multi-discipline team.

The role:

Job Purpose
\n

- To lead and coordinate CFD studies assigned to a multidiscipline studies. \n
- Be responsible for the CFD content and quality of all work on the project. \n
- To assist in the development of proposal work for CFD content of projects. \n
Main Accountabilities:
\n
Perform CFD simulations and assist in the performance of engineering studies. This entails:
\n
- \n
- Running of proprietary software (e.g. CFX) or in-house developed software; \n
- Performing engineering calculations. \n
- Production of technical notes for reporting of study results. \n
- Presentation of findings to clients. \n
- Leading and coordinating discipline personnel assigned to a project. \n
- Ensuring that the project scope of work, design basis, philosophies, standards and procedures including QA are known, understood and implemented by the discipline personnel assigned to the project. \n
- Direction and monitoring of the execution of work about the content and quality of all documentation within the disciplines scope of work. \n
- Participating in all directive activities including preparation and checking documents, specifications, procedures, standards, data sheets etc. \n
- Prepare proposals. \n
- Travelling as required to support the activities listed above. \n
Typical background and experience required:
\n
- \n
- Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent. \n
- Significant experience, mostly in the upstream oil & gas business \n
- Oil and gas industry background. \n
- Strong experience conducting CFD studies in CFX. \n
- Knowledge of thermodynamic fluid properties & phase behaviour. \n
- Knowledge of design issues for oil and gas processing facilities. \n
- Knowledge of design issues for utilities and support systems. \n
- Modelling and analysis of steady state for process plant. \n
- Ability to assess key uncertainties impacting production system development. \n
- Good computer literacy with particular competence in MS Office software. \n
- Full command of the English language written and spoken. \n
- Good discipline and team leadership skills. \n
- Analytical and judgmental skills to find and implement proactive solutions. \n
