Senior Civil Engineer – The Construction Index LtdWe are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in London for a forward-thinking, Civil/Structural specialist consultancy. The firm is a medium-sized practice with approximately 70 staff across three offices in prime locations. You will be supported by a friendly team and rewarded for your hard work.ResponsibilitiesDesign of drainage, service, road infrastructure and earthworks on projects across industrial, commercial, residential, retail, health and leisure sectors.Preparation of associated drawings from concept through to construction.Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements and Service Strategy Reports; design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems.Design and detailing of works for highway (S278, S38, etc.) and drainage agreements (S104, S185, etc.).Site audits and feasibility assessments.Management, leadership, support and coaching of other team members in technical work and report writing.Experience writing reports such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Statements.Experience designing foul and surface water drainage systems using MicroDrainage.Experience using ground modelling software for highway and earthworks design.Experience working with highway authorities, drainage authorities and the Environment Agency.Knowledge of national guidance such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations, etc.Qualifications & SkillsRelevant degree plus several years of experience.Experience with reports such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Statements.Experience designing drainage systems and using MicroDrainage.Experience with ground modelling software for highways/earthworks; familiarity with highway and drainage authorities and EA guidance.Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.BenefitsBonus scheme (based on company and personal performance).Competitive starting salary with annual salary review.25 days' holiday; option to buy or sell additional holiday.Support with ICE / IStructE Professional Development to Chartership level.Company pension scheme with independent pension advice service.Employee Assistance Programme for counselling and advice on legal, financial and personal matters.Salary: £50,000 - £57,000 per annum • Type: Full Time • Region: UK - London • Town/City: LondonPosted: 18/09/2025 • Reference: BBBH1665_1758184690How to applyDon’t miss out!
