Overview

My client, a highly-respected, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their accomplished team of design and engineering specialists, based in the vibrant, diverse city of Birmingham.

Essential Criteria

• Extensive experience in the Civil Engineering sector, having worked on a range of different projects within a consultancy capacity
• A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
• Demonstrable experience of leading a range of projects, across the residential, commercial, and/or industrial sectors
• Knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements, including S104, S38, S278, etc.
• Experience of managing stakeholders across the public and private sectors, with commercial knowledge and awareness
• Good working knowledge of a range of software packages, including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, etc.

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Senior Civil Engineer to possess the following:

• Chartered Membership of a recognised Professional Body (or proactively working to attain Chartered Status)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good time management skills, with the ability to remain flexible and adaptable
• A willingness to engage with a range of projects, with a view to developing your career

Responsibilities

• Overseeing a range of design projects at all stages of the process, from inception through to successful delivery
• Preparation of tenders and fee proposals, drawing upon commercial and technical experience
• Producing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Scoping Reports, and Drainage Strategies, as well as overseeing their completion by other colleagues
• Leading your team in the production of conceptual drainage design (incorporating SuDS techniques) and the creation of relevant drainage plans
• Working to develop designs for adoptable roads and highways
• Reviewing reports, calculations, and drawings
• Presenting Flood Risk Appraisals to clients, providing practical risk mitigation, recommendations, and commercial advice
