Role and working arrangements

Job Location - Lingley Mere (UU), Lingley Green Avenue, Great Sankey, Warrington, WA5 3LP

We offer a flexible and hybrid working model that lets you balance your work and life. In-person site attendance at Lingley Mere, Warrington is required three days per week to promote face-to-face collaboration, with some travel to other sites in the North West. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourself with the site, the team, and your role.

Role Purpose

Job Purpose — Are you a Civil Engineer looking for a rewarding career that combines engineering knowledge with opportunities for professional development and large-scale, sustainable projects that benefit the environment and society? This role supports the Civil Engineering team in delivering strategic goals in the North West of England. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will provide design and technical advice across multiple sectors, operate within a delivery area, and maintain strong cross-disciplinary relationships to ensure cohesive progress. You will also line-manage technical staff and mentor engineers within the company to help develop the next generation of engineering talent.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Engage in collaborative efforts with internal teams, ensuring project delivery aligns with client expectations and technical standards.
  • Provide authoritative engineering guidance and manage project lifecycles, from data analysis to documentation and technical review.
  • Assume interim leadership roles, demonstrating adaptability and readiness to uphold senior responsibilities.
  • Promote the company's technical prowess within the industry by contributing to scholarly articles and supporting educational outreach.
  • Uphold stringent health and safety protocols, mentor emerging talent, and drive the enhancement of engineering practices and quality assurance.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Qualified to degree level/HND equivalent or have equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Chartered/Incorporated Engineer, or can present a tangible plan to obtain Chartership within the first 12 months of tenure
  • Working knowledge and experience of capital and strategic civil engineering projects in highly technical and commercial environments
  • Experience of providing technical advice, influencing and directing the delivery of successful engineering outcomes
  • Hold a current UK/EU driving licence

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified to degree level/HND equivalent or have equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Chartered/Incorporated Engineer, or can present a tangible plan to obtain Chartership within the first 12 months of tenure
