The Senior Civil Engineer will work on major water and wastewater projects in the South West, supporting design and build delivery from concept to completion on site. The role is linked to an AMP8 contract running for five years to 2029, with potential for a further five-year extension, and involves driving project delivery in the region. Responsibilities
Provide design support and guidance for schemes, ensuring designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions across design, construction and beyond Engage with clients, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to meet project aims Manage interfaces and integration of civil design with other disciplines and associated documentation Act as technical checker on project documents and undertake technical reviews across teams Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, including standard designs, sustainable solutions and digital tools Conduct site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems Support development of the civil engineering team, coaching engineers and identifying appropriate resources
What you’ll need
Degree in Civil Engineering or related field Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution Experience delivering high-quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards Water or wastewater treatment experience A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the operational region
