OverviewMy client is currently looking for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to be based in Manchester, with occasional visits to other offices and site.Negotiable Rates - OUTSIDE IR35This is an exciting and challenging role in a growing team of 130+ C&S Engineers and Designers. Our department covers a range of projects from Concept Studies through to Detailed Design provide a variety of interesting work. Industries can range across Water, Transport and Energy including Green Energy, Nuclear and Oil and Gas.ResponsibilitiesWorking with minimal supervision or guidance, the fundamental requirement of this role is to work with our existing design team including carrying out feasibility studies, reference designs, detailed designs, and preparing reports and technical specifications and proposals for key local and regional clients, mainly in the Northwest.Working with minimal supervision or guidance, the fundamental requirement of this role is to work with our existing design team including carrying out feasibility studies, reference designs, detailed designs, and preparing reports and technical specifications and proposals for key local and regional clients.Take responsibility for leading small projects and sub tasks from a technical perspectivePrepare preliminary and detailed design analysis, calculations, specifications and related documentation for civil and structural worksCommunicate designs effectively to the BIM teamsCommunicate effectively with other disciplines and construction teamsCommunicate confidently and authoritatively with clientsChallenge and deliver value engineering solutionsSupport and guide more junior team membersKnowledge, Skills, and ExperienceMinimum 5 years experience within the nuclear industry.Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the discipline.Awareness of risk identification, quantification, management and of HSE requirementsDesirableC&S elements of pumped systems, such as fire and potable water.Knowledge of Urenco standards and processesExperience with new and historic structures, including optioneering assessments.Experience in leading small teams and supporting more junior engineers.Knowledge and experience of common forms of contractsProject Management experienceRequirements Management experienceQualificationsBEng Civil or Structural EngineeringChartership or Near with ICE or IStructECSCS or CCNSGAbility to obtain Security Clearance #J-18808-Ljbffr
