We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join an innovative behavioural AI company that is transforming authentication. This is a high-impact role where you will design and own the data infrastructure that powers cutting-edge AI models.
We are seeking a driven individual to design and own our client’s entire data ecosystem. You’ll create the pipelines, tools, and infrastructure that power their AI models, laying the foundations of a system that doesn’t yet exist.
Joining at a pivotal growth stage, you’ll take responsibility for everything from data collection to model training workflows, with the chance to shape the company’s data strategy and ultimately lead the function as the business scales.
What You’ll Do
- Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for behavioural biometric and sensor data
- Develop real-time and batch processing for authentication workflows
- Implement automated data validation and monitoring systems
- ML Infrastructure & Support
- Create feature stores and standardised datasets for machine learning
- Create standardised datasets and data formats for model training and evaluation
- Implement data versioning and lineage tracking for reproducible model development
- Develop experimentation infrastructure to support A/B testing and model evaluation
- Design data warehouse/lake architecture solutions with modern cloud platforms
- Establish governance practices and privacy controls for sensitive data
- Create monitoring and alerting systems for data quality and pipeline health
- Implement security measures and compliance frameworks for sensitive behavioural data
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with AI engineers to optimise data for model performance
- Partner with software engineers to integrate data systems with authentication APIs
- Support product and business teams with metrics, reporting, and analytics
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in data engineering or related roles
- Technical Skills:
- Python & SQL expertise
- Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Containerization (Docker, orchestration tools)
- Experience with machine learning data pipelines, MLOps, real-time streaming, and mobile/sensor data
- Experience with real-time streaming data processing (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)
- Familiarity with privacy-preserving technologies and GDPR compliance
- Understanding of time-series data and sensor data processing
- Systems thinker who can design scalable, maintainable architecture
- Skilled at collaborating with ML engineers and product teams
- Problem-solver with strong attention to data quality
- Thrives in a fast-moving startup environment
- Excellent communicator, technical and non-technical alike
- Growth-oriented, with the ambition to lead a data function
