We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our backend development team and play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimising ETL and streaming data pipelines. You’ll report to our Principal Engineer and work with our frontend and backend engineers to integrate data from diverse sources, supporting analytics, reporting, and decision-making across the business. This role will also help strengthen our business intelligence and AI capabilities, ensuring Venatus remains at the forefront of adtech innovation.What you'll doContribute to the design and maintenance of scalable, efficient data pipelines and frameworks for end-to-end reporting and analytics.Enhance pipelines to generate derived business metrics for real-time monitoring, alerting, and actionable insights.Develop data workflows to support AI/ML model creation.Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate data from internal and external systems, ensuring compatibility and accuracy.Support strategies that maintain the highest levels of data quality and consistency.Build proactive monitoring systems to ensure data reliability and identify potential issues.Design efficient data storage and retrieval strategies to minimise overhead and maximise performance.What you'll bring5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role.Expertise in data warehousing, orchestration, and architecture.Advanced SQL skills with experience in relational databases.Strong programming skills in Python (or equivalent languages).Hands-on experience developing in Kubernetes environments.Proficiency with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.Experience with DBT.Nice To HaveFamiliarity with digital advertising technologies.Experience with Clickhouse.Knowledge of Dagster.Experience with Go.PackageCompetitive base salary dependent on experienceFlexible working pattern & Summer HoursTeam building daysCycle to Work schemeSeason Ticket Loan schemeTech SchemePrivate Health Care25 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays and your birthday offOption to buy and sell annual leave allowanceOpportunity to make a significant impact in a growing adtech companyDiversity, Equity and InclusionWe understand that the best ideas are born from the collaboration of diverse minds, spanning all races, religions, ethnicities, genders and orientations.
