Senior Design Engineer – L/Derry. Salary up to £44,000.

An excellent opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join a global engineering firm based in L/Derry. Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer and working as part of a team you will focus on development of new and existing products within defined timescales.

The Role

• Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products.
• Resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage engineering change process
• Follow Group standards in the areas of QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing
• Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability
• Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers.
• Investigate and address Customer Complaints in a timely manner.

The Person

• Degree in an engineering related subject
• 3 years\' experience
• Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally CREO
• Good technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems
• Experience of conveying systems would be advantageous
