Position: Senior EC&I Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £50-65, commensurate with experience

The Senior EC&I Engineer will lead the design, development, and delivery of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation systems across reputable and technically demanding projects. Operating as a key technical authority within the EC&I department, this role will ensure that system architectures are robust, compliant, and aligned with both customer requirements and regulatory standards.

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and clients to define specifications, resolve complex technical challenges, and deliver high-integrity control systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of bespoke engineered solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the full lifecycle of EC&I systems design, from concept and specification through to commissioning and handover. Define Electrical control system architectures, specify equipment such as cabling and instrumentation, and lead hardware and software integration activities. Prepare and approve detailed engineering documentation including: Electrical Schematics and General Arrangements Control Philosophy and Functional Design Specifications (FDS) Cable Schedules, I/O Lists, and Panel Layouts Instrumentation Datasheets and Wiring Diagrams Familiarity with PLC/HMI software and interface logic using platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, or Schneider.
