Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Solar PV

After more than 20 years at the forefront of renewables, we're seeking an accomplished Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Solar PV who wants to become the technical authority in electrical system design within our growing, established company.

This opportunity is for you if you're an electrically-focused solar professional with extensive design experience who's ready to take complete ownership of electrical systems across commercial installations and establish yourself as our lead electrical specialist.

As Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you'll report directly to our Operations Director and have full autonomy over electrical design across the entire project lifecycle - from initial electrical assessments through to final commissioning and handover. Unlike larger corporates where engineers are confined to narrow disciplines, here you'll own the complete electrical scope: system sizing, protection design, AC/DC architecture, and commissioning protocols.

Based from home, you'll lead electrical design for commercial solar and BESS installations (100kWp to 3MW) plus domestic projects at commercial scale. From DC string optimization and inverter selection to BMS electrical integration and G100 compliance design, you'll apply your electrical engineering skills across the full technical spectrum.

About you

• 17th/18th Edition qualified with extensive electrical design experience in commercial solar and BESS across complete system lifecycles.
• Proven electrical design capability with demonstrated ability to take projects from electrical concept through to commissioning and performance validation.
• Electrically excellent with AC/DC system design, protection coordination, inverter/BESS electrical specification, and commissioning experience.
• Health and safety qualified (SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS/ECS) with experience in electrical risk assessment and compliance.
• Ambitious and technically driven. Looking for a role where your electrical design expertise shapes system performance rather than just following standard templates.
• Flexible to spend short periods away from home for electrical commissioning and site validation.
