THE OPPORTUNITY – SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Required to drive the availability and reliability of equipment and systems through proactive mitigation of degradation, and to provide active support to front line operations, developing plans for the medium to long term.
The successful candidate will provide technical engineering expertise, governance and assurance to operated assets, Management of Change and projects.
Duration: Initial contract duration is 12 months, reviewed for renewal thereafter.
Location: Aberdeen based with travel to site including offshore
Closing Date: Fri 1st August
Spirit Energy currently have a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers. There are 3 core days that must be worked in the office. Tuesday and Wednesday are compulsory days and another day of the workers choosing. The other 2 days can be either worked at home or in the office.
In role you will be accountable for:
- Providing discipline expertise and assurance for troubleshooting operational issues, failure and incident investigation, identifying root cause and improvements to prevent future occurrence.
- Supporting asset facing discipline engineers, ensuring solutions are appropriate and industry best practice
- Identifying and implementing solutions for escalated and complex repairs, ensuring adherence to standards and engineering processes, review and technically authorise any discipline MoC that is required for engineered repairs
- The development of MoC problem statements into an engineering statement of requirements and drive process to implementation.
- The identification, management and assurance of specialist vendors and 3rd parties
- Providing discipline engineering expertise and validation for risk assessment processes including deferral and operational risk assessment.
- Progressing specific discipline scopes through definition, planning and execution including CMMS (SAP) aspects
- Monitoring adequacy, and provide advice on the effectiveness of, discipline Performance Standards and SECE’s.
- Monitoring and advising assets on compliance with National Regulatory requirements e.g. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (UK)/ NEN3140 (NL), including requirements for adequate competent and authorised site personnel.
- Maintaining discipline standards, processes, practices (e.g. Ex Electrical Equipment Practice) and procedures (e.g. Electrical Safety Rules).
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Significant, relevant experience in the oil and gas or process industries in the field of electrical engineering.
- Demonstrated experience of providing engineering support to frontline operations in an oil and gas or chemicals manufacturing (top tier COMAH)
- Expert working knowledge and application of relevant UK oil and gas industry standards, regulations and practices in electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of, and ability to use, forms of engineering documentation, for example P&IDS and single line diagrams.
- CMMS experience, particularly SAP
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels and encourage teams across core crew and subcontractors.
