Job Title: Senior Electronics/Firmware EngineerSalary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annumLocation: Warwick, UK. Hybrid 2-3 days in our Warwick officeNicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electronics & Firmware Engineer to join an innovative & award-winning tech client in Warwick.About the Role:Our client is looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer with experience of embedded software to work on the electronics and firmware for their innovative range of products.You will be a part of a strong research and development team which includes electronics hardware, embedded software, cloud & backend software and mobile app development. The work you do will be crucial to the success of our client's current and future products in the marketplace. This is a hands-on role and would need on-site presence around 3 days per week.Key Responsibilities:Design of robust products from concepts and specifications, bringing innovative solutions to complex problemsBringing your experience to bear with hands on developmentOversee PCB design and layout, ensuring best practice and high-quality resultsWrite and specify test plans for hardware verification and production testingSupport environmental and EMC testing during qualificationPerform circuit analysis including power consumption, component tolerance & reliabilityCapture and implement design requirements in collaboration with other teams.Essential Skills & Experience:Experience of delivering digital electronics designs from concept to production, preferably with a focus on battery powered, microprocessor-based applicationsBe technically fluent in hardware with some experience of embedded softwareOversight of PCB Design & layoutFamiliarity with standard interface busses such as SPI, I2C, UART & USBProduct development with regards to DFx (design for safety, testability, and manufacturability)Knowledge of test & verification techniques in support of product lifecycle developmentExperience of using embedded C on microcontrollersA Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experienceStrong communication skills, both written & verbal.Desirable Skills/Experience:These skills/experience are not mandatory but would be an advantage to candidates able to demonstrate any of the following:Full product life cycle development & managementExperience with environmental and EMC testing during qualificationProduction test development & operation when working with in-house or contract manufacturersExperience with battery powered Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devicesSome experience of analogue electronics design would be advantageousTechnical fluency in any of the following: Mechanical or industrial design; Manufacturing engineering or factory test setupsExperience of certification process such as CE, ISED and FCC.BenefitsThe opportunity to work in a dynamic, innovative environment.Hybrid working arrangements.A benefits package including: Pension; Comprehensive healthcare through AXA; 24/7 On-line GP supportA share scheme25 Days Annual Holiday, plus 8 Public Bank HolidaysA supportive team culture with regular team events and professional development opportunitiesDiscount schemes including software services discountsFree car parking on-site**Please note - our client is unable to provide Visa Sponsorship.
