OverviewVGC Group is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme in the South East. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of on-site delivery, quality assurance, and technical coordination across a complex civil engineering project.LocationLocation: HertfordshireResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate site activities to ensure all setting-out and quality control procedures are carried out efficiently and in line with the construction programmeProduce and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring works comply with project specificationsEnsure only the latest drawings and specifications are in use on siteSupport the development of short-term programmes and monitor progress against key milestonesOversee surveying and setting-out requirements, including control establishment and volumetric checksMaintain accurate daily site records, including subcontractor attendance and progress notesParticipate in daily coordination meetings, safety briefings, and management of change processesLead and support site engineers, promoting a positive health, safety and environmental cultureRequirementsDegree or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)Strong technical experience in setting-out, surveying, and quality control within civil or infrastructure projectsWorking knowledge of ITPs, RAMS, and safety management proceduresAbility to read and interpret drawings and construction documentsExcellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skillsCompetent in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is advantageousValid CSCS Card and SSSTS/SMSTSThis position suits an experienced engineer who enjoys technical responsibility, collaborative problem-solving, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety on site.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeIndustriesCivil Engineering and Construction #J-18808-Ljbffr
