We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Engineer for a position in our Engineering Department, where you will be enrolled into our professionally accredited training programme.

You will be primarily based in Ipswich.

The position itself will include: Tender Engineering: Supporting the business development team in taking the Clients requirement andengineering them into a solution that can be costed and bid.

Pre-Construction Engineering: Converting tender concepts into reality, working collaboratively alongside our fabrication, operations and project delivery teams.

Delivery Engineering: Work in the project delivery phase developing to the level of detail needed to obtainthe Client approval, procure materials, and create the technical information needed to undertake the construction, surveying and commissioning activities.

Project Management: Coordinate and manage the execution of small-medium sized projects, working closely with all the project stakeholders and the rest of the team to deliver a successful outcome.

Project Controls: Support our Commercial Team as they manage schedules, control project costs and cashflow.

Construction and Commissioning: Comply with Health and Safety processes, work on and with our plant and fleet to turn design into reality. You will be involved in: • Providing engineering leadership, undertaking and approving calculations, technical assessments, drawings and site documentation for marine operations. • Oversee technical delivery throughout tender, pre-construction, and delivery phases; planning projects to ensure they met Client, HSE, and regulatory requirements. • Support junior engineers, promoting professional development and progression towards professional accreditation. • Work closely with fabrication, operations, and project delivery teams to turn engineered concepts into safe and practical solutions. • Support onsite construction works, ensuring quality and safety.

Required Attributes: • Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Marine Engineering (MEng/MSc). • At least 3 years experience of working in marine or civil engineering construction projects, with proven track record in project management and delivery. • Strong project management and client/stakeholder facing skills, with proven experience of leadership and problem-solving. • Excellent communication and mentoring abilities, with enthusiasm for developing innovative solutions. • Confident, collaborative, and able to build strong relationships at all levels. • Experience using Eurocodes, British Standards, PIANC, DNV and other relevant design codes, • standards and guidance, preferably for temporary works. • Understanding of compliance with relevant H&S regulations, including CDM 2015. • IT competent in Microsoft, Autodesk and Structural Design packages • Good attention to detail and accuracy of work • Full UK Driving Licence. Desired Attributes: • Have an interest in the maritime industry, and committed to professional accreditation. • Experience in offshore/marine engineering, with a track record of: o Jack-up assessments (SSA, leg penetration, deck plans) to SNAME, ISO and DNV standards. o Piling techniques and driveability studies. o Temporary works and seafastening design. o Heavy lifting, craneage, and Appointed Person duties. • Progressing towards chartership with an Engineering Professional Body (ICE, IMechE, IMarEst etc) • Committed to developing company presence with business development opportunities and industry engagement. • Construction site accreditations, for example but not exclusively CSCS card, SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator / Supervisor, Appointed Person are desirable.
