The role is for a Senior/Staff Engineer and reports to a Staff Engineer. The position can be based in the UK or anywhere within 3 hours of the UK timezone.

Responsibilities

  • Re-imagine and refactor our existing services and tooling.
  • Deliver software as part of onboarding new clients and use cases.
  • Work in a customer-focused team alongside Machine Learning Engineers developing the Agent AI needed to operate customer processes.
  • Establish design patterns and approaches that others can follow.
  • Bridge our Machine Learning and Platform Engineering capabilities, acting as software glue to bring them together effectively.
  • Contribute to a new generation of tools and services for building AI Agents.
  • Coordinate design and architecture to enable scalable growth (aiming to support 30+ clients).

Qualifications

  • Expert Python development experience.
  • Ability to venture into Data Engineering, MLOps and/or Platform Engineering.
  • Track record of delivering solutions in the areas mentioned above.
  • Strong skills in creating and managing containerised microservices running on Kubernetes.
  • Advocate of software best practices, standards, and culture.
  • Hands-on development focus with a plan to continue actively coding for at least the next 12 months.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures.
  • DevOps mindset and the ability to apply it using cloud platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of Go (back-end services in Go).
  • Experience using AI-assisted code development tools (e.g. Cursor).
  • Understanding of machine learning principles.

  • Experience working in a start-up environment.
  • Confidence using AWS.
