Senior Highway Engineer

Overview Our client is an independent transport planning and highway design consultancy based in Central London, specialising in development planning work across the UK. They are currently looking to recruit a client-facing, Senior Highway Engineer for their busy head office in Central London. Responsibilities Your main duties will include joining as part of the Infrastructure team and providing wider support across the business. You’ll have a fantastic opportunity to support the Engineering team by supporting and learning from experienced Highway Engineers and mentoring/receiving support from Engineers, Assistant Engineers and CAD Technicians.
Develop designs in AutoCAD and Vehicle Tracking. Work across Microsoft Office and AutoDesk platforms. Design a detailed design package for highway design projects.
Key Competencies
Able to be client-facing. Knowledge of highways, drainage and levels design. Prepare drawings in AutoCAD. Responsible for document management and the issuing of drawings. Support Engineering Leads in maintaining CAD standards, best practice and processes for modelling and drawing production.
What you’ll need to succeed
Proficient in AutoCAD, and preferably Civil 3D, or experience with similar 3D software.
Desirable competencies
Knowledge of highway and level design. Ability to be client-facing and confident. Familiarity with British Standards/Codes of Practice. A good team player confident to liaise with other staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage time with multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
