Overview
My client is a world-leading independent production and distribution group that produces some of the most popular TV programmes in the world.
They're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will support circa 30 internal companies with approximately 1,500 users and 100s of freelancers. You will operate in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. The role is in a fun, diversity-focused organisation with a dress-down culture based in Holborn / Tottenham Court Road. The role is on a hybrid model with non-negotiable in-office requirements, currently every Tuesday.
Responsibilities
- You will work alongside 3 other senior engineers, and 2 project-based engineers reporting to the IT Manager.
- Possess a “modern Windows engineer” skillset as the client hosts 60% of infrastructure in AWS and 40% Windows on-prem. The environment is Windows/Microsoft inside the AWS ecosystem, glued together using Terraform. Heavy use of Okta & Okta Workflows.
- AWS – solid experience is an absolute must
- Terraform - must have written your scripts
- Identity Providers (Okta, JumpCloud, EntraID etc)
- Windows Server (2016-22) administration, mix of physical and virtual using HyperV
Projects
- Migrating the last on-prem servers into AWS/O365. These are mainly file servers that need to be migrated and architected into the AWS estate to remove the last remaining on-prem servers.
- Good O365 / SharePoint knowledge will be really helpful for this
- Experience with tools like AvePoint, ManageEngine etc will be helpful for the Windows = AWS/SharePoint migrations
- The eventual goal is to migrate all infrastructure into Lambda.
- Windows VM building, EC2 or AWS, and related troubleshooting
- Working on ~100 Windows VMs over 6 accounts using AppStream and RDS for databases in an EC2 environment of over 100 services
- S3 backups and storage
- OKTA is central to their hub with Okta and Okta Workflows automation projects
- Easy onboarding for newly acquired businesses
- Security access process
