Senior IT Engineer / IT Manager Location: North Bristol — hybrid (2–3 days per week onsite) Salary: Up to £70,000 + annual bonus

Role:
As a hands-on IT lead, you’ll step into a small team, helping to mentor and manage 2 junior engineers. You'll take ownership of day-to-day operations, and quickly lift the team’s technical capability, especially around security and cloud hardening as the business scales.
What you’ll be doing:
Line-manage and mentor two junior IT support engineers Own operational delivery: ensure reliable, secure, cloud-only services and remove pressure from the team by taking hands-on responsibility. Review the current cloud estate and produce clear technical recommendations for the Head of IT to prioritise improvements. Implement and champion ITSM best practices (incident, problem, change) and improve ways of working across the team. Produce runbooks, documentation and technical standards to reduce firefighting and enable consistent, repeatable operations.
Who we’re looking for:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT/engineering roles, with demonstrable hands-on operational experience. Experience managing or mentoring small teams and providing technical leadership is ideal. Strong cloud experience - managing cloud-only environments and applying security/compliance controls- They use Azure Comfortable with ITSM frameworks and operational discipline; you know what ‘good’ looks like and can put it in place. Practical, pragmatic problem-solver who can both do the technical work and advise senior stakeholders. Able to work in the office 2–3 days per week (North Bristol) and collaborate with international colleagues.
