Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Central London (Hybrid – 2–3 days in the office)
Salary: £40,000 per annum + benefits
Contract: Permanent, full-time
About the Role
We’re working with a charity to recruit a dedicated Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and strengthen their core IT systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation where your work will directly support impactful services delivered across the UK.
You’ll play a key role in the IT team, maintaining infrastructure and cloud systems, providing expert support to staff, and contributing to future-focused improvements. As well as leading on technical issues, you’ll support the development of junior colleagues and help shape a secure, efficient, and modern IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including cloud-based platforms
Provide expert support for Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), and Windows 11
Administer Active Directory and virtual environments such as Hyper-V
Oversee day-to-day IT support queries and escalations
Maintain secure and stable network infrastructure (TCP/IP)
Supervise and guide the IT Engineer
Keep accurate technical documentation and user guides
Support the use of tools such as SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
Contribute to IT project work and wider digital strategy
About You
We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive, team-focused attitude. You’ll be confident managing systems independently and enjoy supporting colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong experience in IT support or infrastructure roles
Knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, and Hyper-V
Understanding of network configuration and workstation support
Ability to explain technical issues clearly and provide guidance to non-technical users
Experience supporting and managing hardware, software, and user accounts
Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
IT-related qualifications or certifications
Experience working in the charity or not-for-profit sector (desired)
Knowledge of SharePoint administration and endpoint security
