Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.
Please note, this role will require travel across our Eurofins UK Forensics sites positioned in Heathrow, Warrington, Tamworth and Abingdon therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
You may also be required to travel overseas within Europe.
Role
As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise infrastructure systems across the UK and Europe. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, acting as an escalation point for the local IT team and ensuring the delivery of secure, high-performing, and resilient infrastructure services.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Leadership: Act as a senior escalation point and mentor for the IT Infrastructure team; manage apprentices and support recruitment and performance reviews.
- Technical Delivery: Design, deploy, and maintain core infrastructure including:
- VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN)
- Citrix (XenApp/XenDesktop, ADC/NetScaler, WEM)
- Storage (FC and SAS SANs – Dell Unity, ME)
- Backup (Commvault, Veeam)
- Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, Intune
- Operational Excellence: Oversee incident/request management, change approvals, and SLA/KPI reporting.
- Security & Compliance: Implement best practices, support audits, and manage tools like Qualys, BeyondTrust, and SentinelOne.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (network, cloud, security, service desk) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and monthly performance summaries.
- Support Coverage: Provide Level 1/2 support when needed; participate in on-call and out-of-hours support rotations.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a Senior IT Infrastructure role.
- VMware, Citrix, SAN Storage, Commvault/Veeam
- Windows Server 2019/2022, Active Directory Tiering, PowerShell
- SCCM, Intune, WSUS, Exchange 2016/2019
- Security tools: Qualys, SentinelOne, Zscaler, Umbrella
- PAM: BeyondTrust
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives

Security & Compliance
Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, security clearance is required for this role. To gain security clearance you must have five years continuous residency in the UK. Security clearance is undertaken by a third party to police personnel vetting standards (NPPV/3 and SC). Any criminal convictions may prevent you from gaining security clearance.
