ROLE- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer TERM- Permanent LOCATION – Huddersfield SALARY- £40,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience) My client designs and manufactures equipment for Water industry. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Huddersfield on a permanent basis. The Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:At least 10 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / Mechanical Engineering positionat least 10 years' experience working and designing sheet metal productsDegree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similarPrevious experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environmentExperience working with hydraulics and pneumatics would be beneficialA background in Water related industries would also be ideal – Specifically waste water!5+ years' experience with sheet metal design and manufactureBe proficient using 3D CAD software, they use SolidWorks and AutoCADKnowledge of a variety of materials and manufacturing processesGood theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerancesExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenProficient using MS OfficeExcellent organisational skills and time management skillsHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team The Mechanical Engineer role will involve:Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawingsDesigning conveyors and other machinery in the Automation sectorLiaising with manufacturing providers and clientsCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plansUpdating 3D models and drawingsCreating BOMsChecking drawings for sign offWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
