£50,000-£55,000 An opportunity has arisen to form part of a brand new NPD team, for an established technology company in Bristol.
This role will be well suited to someone working at, or towards, a Senior level within Mechanical design.
You will be responsible for aspects of design, development, testing and maintainability related to our clients high performing operational capability. They are an exciting technology company, with products facing many engineering challenges and covering many technologies, including control systems, dynamics, hydraulics, motors, generators, sensors, electronics, and software. You will be a member of a multi-disciplined engineering team, already accomplished in your field, and looking to increase the breadth of your knowledge across a wide range of technologies. Innovation and development are encouraged, backed up by simulation and testing, ensuring that the company continues to develop high quality competitive products.
What you'll need
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
Previous design and engineering experience, minimum 6 years.
A good understanding of materials and their properties.
A good understanding of coatings.
The ability to understand and perform static Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
The ability to specify dynamic FEA and understand the results.
An understanding of how parts are manufactured.
What you'll be doing
Checking and approving drawings and documentation.
Design and development of mechanical assemblies.
Ability to substantiate own design with calculations.
Design of test setups and experiments to support designs.
Participate in testing on the shop floor.
Produce documentation: design documents, test reports, manufacturing specifications, user documentation, etc.
Support manufacturing by answering suppliers queries.
