Our client, an established aerospace & defence manufacturing firm on the Isle of Wight, requires an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team.

Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Isle of Wight - Hybrid - 3 days on-site

Role Type: Permanent

What the role entails

• Providing technical engineering support to mechanical engineering design activities for new and legacy products
• Developing conceptual designs for marine products, sub-systems and units
• Producing technical documentation in line with company guidelines
• Attending and contributing to design review discussions/meetings
• Engaging with different engineering disciplines and competencies within the local project and company more broadly
• Undertaking continuous personal development to build skill, knowledge, and competence in a range of business situations
• Supporting the development of other early careers engineers within the discipline

What experience you need

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Full engineering lifecycle experience
• Defence, Marine or extreme environment engineering industry experience
• Broad understanding of mechanical engineering theory and technology with an interest in developing specialist experience in cooling systems, FE and CFD
