Senior Mechanical Engineer - London (Data Centres).

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team within a leading international engineering and design consultancy, with a strong focus on high-performance building services across mission-critical projects.

Location: London

• Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 + package (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and coordination of medium to large-scale projects from concept through to construction.
• Develop detailed engineering solutions for HVAC and other mechanical building services systems, ensuring they meet performance, sustainability, and compliance targets.
• Work closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Carry out technical assessments, calculations, and analysis to support robust design development.
• Support and mentor junior team members, reviewing work and providing technical guidance.
• Ensure designs adhere to UK regulations, international standards, and project-specific requirements.
• Prepare specifications and reports using tools such as Word, Excel, and specialist engineering software.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Previous professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer working on data centres, industrial or similar projects.
• Familiar with UK building regulations and Standards.
• Ability to lead packages of work independently while coordinating effectively within a wider team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in design tools and software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical calculation tools.
