Role PurposeProvide mechanical design expertise in the development of sensors and associated products, ensuring all designs meet technical and quality standards. Lead and coordinate the mechanical design function within the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop precision pressure housings and optical assemblies.Create and refine mechanical elements for sensor systems.Develop concepts and prototypes using 3D printing techniques.Define processes for encapsulation, bonding, and material selection.Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.Ensure full design release information is provided to internal and external manufacturing partners.Maintain and improve design standards, ensuring alignment with company and industry best practices.Performance IndicatorsMechanical designs satisfy product requirement specifications.All designs adhere to BS8888 or equivalent technical drawing standards.Continuous improvement of working methods and design efficiency.Accurate and complete release data provided to manufacturing teams and suppliers.Qualifications, Skills & ExperienceFormal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HND, Degree or equivalent).Minimum 1 year of experience in a mechanical design or related engineering role.Proficiency in 3D CAD solid modelling and detailed manufacturing drawings (preferably SolidWorks).Experience with complex assemblies, machining, and mechanical fitting.Familiarity with moulded or resin-based products, plastics, adhesives, or optomechanical systems.Experience designing for harsh environments (e.g. high-pressure housings up to 600 bar).Knowledge of shock and vibration testing methodologies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
