Please only apply if you are able to travel.The RoleThe Mechanical Project Engineer will provide technical knowledge, guidance and support to deliver projects, ensuring that all actions, activities and outputs underpin the integrity, expertise and competency of the company.Key ObjectivesTechnical CompetencyRespond to client or colleague enquiries and take necessary actions to develop an effective engineering solutionProduction of, but not limited to:concept, scheme and detailed design documentationunderpinning design calculations and analytical assessmentsengineering reportsprovision of relevant data, theory, formulae or standards to support design, manufacture, installation or equipment testSelf checking of all documentation prior to submitting for formal check and reviewProject DeliveryLiaise with internal and group company colleagues to provide, but not limited to, the following:originate, prepare and deliver project documentation and engineering design deliverablesprovide technical oversight to sub-contract packages of workattend and contribute to engineering/project meetingsattend and participate in sub-contract/client design reviewscheck and review engineering and project deliverables and outputs and provide constructive feedbackbid supportcommunicate effectively with all membersBe aware of Company business plan and to promote NSG to ensure continuity of business within the context of that planContribute to the development of business and success of current projects by the internal referral and communication of appropriate information and intelligenceRecognise the potential impact of own actions for the Group, Company, clients and suppliers and act in appreciation of this at all timesMaintain effective working relationships across all Group, Company, Site and Function HeadsPromulgate and promote the Company's reputation, expertise and capability through attendance, contribution and submission to media articles, exhibitions, professional institutions, client meetings, external events, inward visits, and through professional bodies/colleagues etc.Person SpecificationQualificationsEducated to degree level or equivalent in a technical disciplineMembership of appropriate technical/professional bodyIOSH Managing Safely or formal H & S qualification - Relevant training will be provided if requiredExperience & KnowledgeUnderstanding of the Project lifecycle and how projects are delivered within NSGBasic understanding of the UK Nuclear IndustryUnderstanding of the radiological controls used within the type of projects delivered by NSG - desirableUsed to dealing with confidential and commercial information - desirableFamiliar with QSHEW operating procedures and requirements etc. - desirableSkills & AbilitiesCompetent user of MS officeAbility to organise own work and effectively deliver under the guidance of a Project ManagerAbility to prepare and present reports, documentation and information in support of project deliveryAbility to interpret and evaluate technical dataAbility to communicate with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders and contractorsKnowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 & 45001PackageLife Assurance 3x SalaryPension – Company contributes 5% Individual contributes 4%Discretionary bonus187.5 hours per year holiday allowanceProfessional memberships coveredLarge Training and Development budge available.NSG Environmental are a Disability Confident Committed Employer
