Senior Mutli-Skilled Engineer - Day Shift

As a Senior Multi-Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias), you will spend around 60% of your time on mechanical engineering and 40% on electrical, making it ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background and solid electrical knowledge (minimum Level 3). You will be key in keeping production running, minimising downtime, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the engineering team to deliver full site maintenance requirements. Carry out mechanical maintenance (approx. 60%) and support electrical tasks (approx. 40%). Oversee and deliver a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme. Provide a robust breakdown call-out plan to minimise downtime. Maintain compliance of pressure systems with legal and insurance requirements. Assist with the purchasing and stock control of maintenance parts within budget. Maintain and manage the Permit to Work system. Provide regular reports on engineering performance and KPIs. Ensure all works (by the team and contractors) comply with Health & Safety standards. Monitor and reduce environmental impacts in line with company policy.
What Were Looking For
Essential: Time-served Multi-Skilled Engineer with a mechanical bias (approx. 60/40). Electrical qualification (Level 3 minimum). Organised and flexible, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable: IOSH qualification. Experience with boilers, pressure systems, or feed mill / food production machinery. Previous experience supervising or managing a small team. Awareness of budgetary and cost-control processes.
