Base pay range

Role: Senior Network Operations Engineer (3rd Line)

Location: Knutsford or Glasgow, hybrid/remote set-up

Salary: up to £70,000 (DOE)

This is an exciting role where you will have responsibility over their whole Network Infrastructure. You can expect to work across Routers, Switches and Firewalls.

What you'll be doing

• Provide end-to-end operational support (L1, L2, and L3) for enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across network components including LAN, WAN, ADC, Firewall, DNS, DHCP, Wireless, SDN, Proxy, and other critical systems.
• Collaborate with service management and product engineering teams to implement network solutions, upgrades, and enhancements.
• Maintain and enforce network security policies, including firewall rules, access controls, and monitoring for vulnerabilities.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operational processes and reduce manual effort.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Support network projects by providing technical expertise, testing, and implementation assistance.
• Continuously optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability to meet evolving business requirements.

What you will need

• Strong experience and background working within Network Engineering, Network Operations or Network Security
• Cisco ACI / FortiGate Firewall experience is highly desired (can definitely look at Cisco ASA/FirePOWER)
• Financial services/banking industry experience is highly desired
• CCNP-level
