Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to be engaged on a permanent basis, based in Newcastle, Bristol, Glasgow, London, and Silchester.
Your purpose:
- Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
- Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety-informed design.
- Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate 'Right First Time' delivery (including designers, clients, site, and regulatory bodies such as DNSR and ONR).
- Undertaking safety assessments and safety analyses (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN).
- Producing safety reports and other technical documents (e.g., PSR, PCSR, ALARP reports).
- Supporting Engineering Substantiation activities.
- Managing and leading Safety Case activities and teams.
While your office base will be in Bristol, Manchester, Silchester, or Glasgow, flexibility in work location is essential. Occasionally, our clients may call on our team to deliver work from their sites.

- Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline (minimum 2:1).
- Chartered status or working towards it.
- Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains, demonstrating good engineering judgment and experience applying fundamental principles.
