OverviewAn exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join a leading civil engineering team delivering key energy infrastructure projects across Scotland. These major developments are part of the ASTI onshore programme, supporting the transition to renewable energy. The projects are located near Inverness. Initially, you will be based in regional offices on the outskirts of Glasgow before transitioning to site-based roles in 2027. The scope includes the construction of new substations and HVDC converter stations to support Scotland's journey to net zero.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain detailed programmes in P6 from first principles, including resource loadingIntegrate and manage subcontractor and supplier programmesInterpret information from tender and project documentationUnderstand civil construction techniques and develop them into actionable programmesCollaborate with estimators and commercial teams on programme elementsProduce clear narratives, phasing plans, and supporting documentation for tenders and live projectsOwn the programme to drive successful deliveryUse planning tools to clearly communicate plans to stakeholdersSupport operational teams with programme, risk, and commercial informationLead collaborative planning workshops with stakeholders and delivery partnersMonitor and report on project progress in line with contractual and internal requirementsManage changes and support commercial teams in programme analysisEvaluate subcontractor and supply chain schedulesComply with internal processes and systemsStay informed on latest construction methodsWhat we're looking forExperience in planning under the NEC form of contract is preferredMinimum of 10 years' experience in planning roles for a tier 1 civil engineering contractorHND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering/Construction preferredProficiency with Primavera P6 is essentialProficiency with Excel and Power BI for reporting is advantageousMust be skilled with tender planningCommercially and contractually aware, with proven change management expertiseWhat’s in it for youCompetitive salaryCompany car / car allowance / travel allowance8% matched pension contributionPrivate healthcareLife assurance26 days holiday + 2 wellbeing days + 1 volunteering dayFamily-friendly policiesExcellent personal and professional development opportunitiesLegal Information: We act as an employment agency for permanent work and as an employment business for temporary work.
