We are working with an international fintech startup in the payments space changing how payments work for small businesses. They have built a platform that reduces costs for small merchants, offering more flexibility and opportunity for success. The company has secured funding from well-known UK venture capitalists and is building out the Platform Engineering team. The product has a strong presence in Europe and the UK and has recently launched in America.

About The Role

You will join a small but scaling Infrastructure & Platform Engineering team and play a key role in designing, constructing, and maintaining the infrastructure. You will contribute to delivering a platform for a fast-growing challenger payments company. You will provide feedback and suggestions for product enhancements and oversee the build and delivery of infrastructure (e.g., CI/CD tools) and guide teams on their optimal use.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to design and implement infrastructure as code.
• Keep up to date with the latest technologies and implement them into the platform.
• Take ownership and responsibility for projects from start to finish.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
• Ensure operational resilience by sharing knowledge with the team.
• Architect cost-effective, fault-tolerant, and highly available solutions on a secure and performant platform.
• Monitor and report on system status to maintain optimal performance.
• Improve the security of both the infrastructure and platform.
• Work with broader engineering teams to analyse and resolve issues in real time, providing end-to-end problem resolution.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years experience working as a Platform Engineer / SRE
• Strong experience with AWS Cloud
• Exposure to Golang, Python & Bash
• Experience creating CI/CD Pipelines
