Due to new projects and company expansion, a leading engineering group has a new vacancy for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join the team. Working on a number of new R&D projects you will develop power conversion products, motor drives and power control systems for a wide range of programmes.\n\nThe Role\n\nDesign power electronics systems, switches and components.\n\nGenerating detailed electronic design schematics and overseeing PCB design layouts.\n\nWork cross functionally with electronics and software teams to develop innovative and practical power electronic solutions.\n\nDefinition of control systems requirements\n\nCommissioning and verification of power electronic systems to relevant standards.\n\nSupport prototype builds, tests and integration.\n\nRoot cause investigation and resolution of any issues.\n\nDelivery of FMEA and functional safety compliance at a hardware level.\n\nThe Person\n\nRelevant development experience of power electronic systems.\n\nDesign of gate drives, selection of switching components, filter design and specification of inductors and transformers.\n\nComponent selection, schematic design and the specification, review and evaluation of PCB designs for high voltage/current.\n\nPrevious experience working in a complex and highly regulated industry (aerospace, automotive, rail, defence, etc).\n\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
