As part of an ambitious growth phase, we’re seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our client as they develop cutting-edge systems for the next generation of aerospace technology.

You’ll apply your expertise to designing high-voltage, high-power inverters and converters that drive advanced propulsion and energy management systems.

The Role:

• Design high-efficiency, robust inverter and converter solutions.
• Develop inverter and DC-DC converter architectures up to 800V and 200+ kW power levels.
• Select topologies and switching devices (SiC, GaN) for maximum efficiency, thermal performance and size optimisation.
• Simulate, design and lay out power stages – including gate drive, protection and feedback circuits.
• Evaluate and implement thermal management approaches, integrating cooling strategies where needed.
• Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC, environmental standards and functional safety requirements (ISO 26262, DO-254, IEC 61508).

Experience:

• Proven track record in power electronics design – ideally in aerospace, automotive or high-performance industrial applications.
• Deep understanding of inverter and DC-DC converter operation and control.
• Strong simulation and design skills, with a methodical, problem-solving mindset.
• The ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate complex ideas clearly.
