Senior/ Principal Electrical Engineer (c.10yrs + experience required)

Location - Preferred Northwest of England and Yorkshire. Remote working with frequent office and client sites visits.

Permanent, full-time

What you'll be doing:

• Site surveys and assessments of the capacity of the plant to meet future demands.
• Feasibility, outline, and detailed electrical design, including P&IDs, instrument schedule, load schedules, load assessments, MCC specifications, cable calculations, system architectures, user requirement specifications, block cable diagrams, single line diagrams, earthing diagrams, I/O schedules, loop diagrams, SCADA and telemetry design and lightning assessments.
• Technical report writing at all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Liaison with clients within the UK.
• Production of general arrangement drawings and detail electrical design drawings.
• Support and/or lead bids, fee proposals or offers of service; development of activity schedules/work plans.
• Understanding of DSEAR, CDM, WIMES, British and European Standards and other statutory, regulatory, and non-regulatory provisions and guidance.
• Participation in Hazard Studies including HAZOP, HAZCON and HAZCOM.
• Development of standard and bespoke design solutions for the water industry and beyond.
• Check and review calculations and reports prepared by others.
• Considering CAPEX and OPEX implications of design decisions at all stages of a project.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience and understanding of water and sewage treatment pro-cesses and the equipment/system requirements.
• Ability to generate innovative and/or technically differentiated solutions to problems, to deliver added value for clients.
• Extensive experience and expertise in the production of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) design deliverables.
• Ability to manage a CAD resource to produce engineering drawings.
• Ability to manage and mentor junior engineers including training and development.
• Line management responsibilities.
• Ability to foster and develop positive relationships through support of business partners and key clients.
• Design management of multidiscipline teams.
• Extensive experience in feasibility, outline, and detailed design.
• Extensive experience with bid / proposal fee / hours estimation for design schemes.
• Extensive experience conducting technical reviews.
• Experience in implementing and having input into the company technical assurance function.
• Commercial and contractual awareness.
• An industry applicable BEng, BSc, or equivalent in an electrical discipline.
