The constant is the complex nature of these jobs and the opportunity to deliver innovative solutions to a range of clients.Whatever the projects, you’ll develop engineering solutions to industry challenges, contributing significantly to the UK’s energy and environmental security.If you are a self-starter capable of managing multiple projects, working closely with clients and internal teams to understand requirements, initiate projects, and deliver first-time-right solutions, we encourage you to apply.Role Requirements:Deliver projects, lead teams and programs, or work directly with clients embedded in major programs.Work in a collaborative environment, spending at least half of your time in an office or site setting.Supervise and review code-compliant calculations, approve technical documents, manage design activities (CAD designs and drawings), and liaise with project managers and directors on commercial matters.Bring sound commercial awareness to supervise teams and ensure timely, quality, and cost-effective delivery.Essential Criteria:Degree qualified mechanical engineer or relevant qualification.Experience with industry design codes (ASME, Eurocodes, BS EN13001, RCC-M, HS&E legislation).Experience in requirements capture, including functional, non-functional, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements.Experience supervising optioneering studies and reviewing mechanical substantiation for new or existing designs.Proficiency in technical report writing, review, and approval.Excellent stakeholder communication and influence skills at all levels.Proven success leading engineering projects with various team sizes.Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions.Preferred Experience:Experience in safety-critical, regulated environments, including bid authoring.Knowledge of nuclear industry safety cases.Experience with hazard/fault identification studies (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA).Chartered status or nearing application with a relevant professional institute.Why work for AtkinsRéalis?The UK’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050 drives our nuclear and clean energy initiatives.
