Mission
The role involves providing technical authority in the employee domain, supporting engineering management in setting priorities through technical roadmaps, supporting product roadmaps, and influencing product profitability and competitiveness. Responsibilities include organizing peer reviews, ensuring traceability and compliance with airworthiness and customer requirements, delivering projects per Safran processes, and interfacing with other functions such as operations, supply chain, and quality.
Principal Responsibilities
- Perform thermal, vibration, and structural Finite Element Analysis using Ansys Workbench.
- Estimate task durations and coordinate with lead engineers and project managers.
- Support process improvements and team development, including coaching and training.
- Author and review engineering documentation related to simulation activities.
- Transfer knowledge and support product improvement plans.
- Represent Safran at conferences and promote simulation capabilities.
Experience & Skills
- Relevant engineering experience or qualification, with industrial experience in precision machine design, development, and manufacturing.
- Expertise in high-speed rotating equipment analysis, fatigue, aerospace materials, and failure analysis.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, CAD tools (NX, Catia V5, ANSYS), and technical report production.
- Additional beneficial knowledge includes electrical machines, fluid dynamics, CFD, LS-Dyna, N-Code, bearing selection, and management experience.
