Hours: 38 hours per week; Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 17:00, Friday: 08:30 - 15:30Purpose of the RoleWorking within the Power Electronics Engineering department, as Senior Process Engineer you will be responsible for leading the process design, development and introduction for Power Electronics (PE) and Microelectronic components and assemblies, including tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to;To lead early-stage process development, in parallel with the Product Development team, through the use of defined methodologies such as PFMEA and Design for Manufacture (DfM) principles.To organise and lead a small team of Process Engineers including managing daily work requirements, planning personnel and machine resource aligned to project requirements, and resolving conflict where necessary to ensure processes and product are available as required.To define and manage process experiments (DoE) including demonstrable evidence of process capability through conclusive early-stage results.To create, or oversee the creation of Standard Operating Procedures, and to lead best practice in SOP creation and communication within the Process team and wider company operators for products going into full production.To drive and maintain quality and to optimise engineering processes and practices for the manufacturing of products in line with company and international quality standards.To provide nurture a Continuous Improvement mindset, always striving for better, within the Process Engineering team.Lead investigations in root cause analysis (8D), using problem-solving techniques and implementing corrective actions in the resolution of process related issues.Work with the Head of Department identify training needs of the Process Engineering team, and to, where possible train and mentor Process Engineers.To provide professional and technical process expertise to the Engineering department and wider company, where necessary, to meet department and company objectives.Develop professional and personal skills through education, training and development within the team and externally.For the full job description and person specification see here.QualificationsQualified to Degree level or equivalent as a minimum in mechanical, electrical or production engineering (2:1 or higher is preferred).A minimum of 10 years industry experience in a relevant discipline or high technology industry.A good working knowledge of 3D CAD to generate 3D solid models and 2D drawings for jigs, fixtures and test equipment.Ability to analyse functional requirements and apply appropriate process criteria and tolerancing to meet specification.Demonstratable experience of engineering manufacturing processes and their selection to meet product design requirements.Demonstrable experience of planning and prioritising personal and team workloadsRepresenting Engineering in maintaining quality standards ISO9001, IATF16949 and to drive continual improvement (familiarity of IPC would also be advantageous).Working with senior team to manage customer, supplier and internal related issues.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with internal and external stakeholders.Computer literate and adept with Microsoft office suite and project. #J-18808-Ljbffr
