Job Title: Senior Product Compliance Engineer

What you'll be doing:

• Attending and reporting to Daily Stand-Up Meetings (DSUM)
• Supporting risk reduction, analysis, and identification activities during design
• Applying a systems engineering approach to safety products, including working within a centralized modelling tool
• Collaborating within a small safety team environment
• Supporting less experienced team members to achieve safety objectives
• Preparing safety assessments to support system design and development
• Contributing to the development of Design Safety Justification inputs
• Serving as Safety SME during product design and gate reviews
• Promoting a strong safety culture within the team and wider organization

Your skills and experiences:

• STEM degree, ideally with product safety experience in a regulated industry
• Knowledge of UK Defence Standards such as Defence Standard 00-56, 00-55, DSA-01, DSA-02
• Experience with safety analysis techniques like FHA, FTA, ETA, FMEA, STPA
• Understanding of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards for complex software and hardware safety systems

The Safety & Environmental team:

The primary focus of this role is ensuring safety during the product design process. You will analyze and provide outputs to Principal Engineers to aid design development. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates across all Submarines roles.
