What you will be doing as a Senior Research Engineer/Scientist

• Leading research, development, and innovation initiatives.
• Leading project activities and providing innovative solutions to challenges in the water sector.
• Exploring new technologies and strategies for wastewater treatment.
• Launching and contributing to RD&I projects, ensuring high-quality outputs.
• Designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities.
• Analyzing data using tools like Python, MATLAB, or similar, and producing robust results and recommendations.
• Writing and reviewing technical reports for stakeholders.
• Presenting project outputs at meetings.
• Building relationships with internal and external partners.
• Promoting RD&I initiatives to stakeholders and clients.

This role is based at Reading Sewage Treatment Works, with a hybrid working model. Attendance at Thames Water sites may be required.

36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A valid UK driving license is required.

What you should bring to the role

• A degree in science, engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant industrial experience.
• Technical knowledge of utilities or related industries.
• Practical skills in operation and maintenance of pilot plants.
• Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
