The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. We provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle, from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or life extension, helping to deliver the energy transition globally.

Role: Senior Safety Case Engineer within the Nuclear; Defence and Civil division of the Energy Unit. This is a dynamic and growing team with opportunities for career progression and impact on the Energy unit.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge/experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Safety Case Production (e.g. SJP, PCSR, PCmSR, PRS)
  • Modification/ Design Change Submissions (LC/AC 22)
  • Decommissioning
  • Functional Safety Assessment
  • Regulatory Interface
  • ALARP Assessment
  • Safety & Risk Assessment
  • Deterministic Safety Assessment
  • Probabilistic Safety Assessment
  • Nuclear Safety Legislation, Regulation and Policy
  • Engineering Substantiation
  • HAZOP and other identification studies
  • HAZAN
  • Criticality
  • Nuclear Fire

Candidate Specification

• Degree qualified in a Science, Technology or Engineering discipline
• Experience in the nuclear or defence industries (applications from other high-hazard / regulated industries will be considered)
• Chartered Engineer or working towards
• Ability to demonstrate successful delivery of nuclear safety deliverables and strategy on complex projects
• Willing to develop and mentor more junior staff
• Candidates must be eligible to apply for and obtain Security Clearance
