Overview

Radiant Science is building the agentic AI layer for clinics and hospitals. The role focuses on shaping the vision and direction of both the product and the company, delivering the core technology for Radiant’s AI healthcare agents.

This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial and driven Engineer to work at the intersection of software and healthcare technology, collaborating with the team to design and scale systems that directly improve patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build secure, scalable production systems for healthcare AI applications
  • Lead design and deployment of intelligent agents in clinical workflows
  • Balance rapid prototyping with enterprise‑grade scalability and reliability
  • Implement HIPAA/SOC2‑compliant infrastructure from the ground up
  • Establish engineering best practices in a fast‑growing technical team
  • Drive observability with robust monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, shaping a culture of technical excellence

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Proven experience working in early company environments or fast-paced, iterative development
  • Strong experience building and maintaining production systems
  • Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and infrastructure
  • Understanding of system design patterns for different scales (microservices, distributed systems, event‑driven architectures)
  • Understanding of security principles, authentication, authorisation, and data protection
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, Go, Java, or similar)
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently

Desirable Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience deploying and managing AI/ML systems in production environments
  • Experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM)
  • Background in machine learning infrastructure and MLOps practices
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code
  • Previous experience in regulated industries
  • Contributions to open‑source projects

Location and Employment

This is a hybrid role based in Berlin. Team members can work from Berlin or remotely with regular on‑sites. Collaboration is fast‑moving and impact‑driven within a start‑up environment.
