Senior Software Engineer

Location: Nottingham (Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite)

Salary & Benefits: Up to £75,000 + Benefits

A forward-thinking green energy company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing product engineering team. This is a hands-on role focused on building scalable, secure, and high-performance platforms using modern cloud-native technologies. You’ll be working on greenfield development projects that support data-driven decision-making across a range of industries.

The Role

  • Lead the end-to-end development of scalable software solutions, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and fellow engineers, to deliver intuitive, high-performance applications.
  • Take ownership of the core platform, ensuring it remains robust, secure, and scalable.
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes, automating complex workflows and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Champion clean, maintainable code and contribute to architectural decisions and technical best practices
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance to ensure system reliability and performance.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles, with a track record of building scalable web applications.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Proven experience in greenfield development projects, from concept to deployment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive in driving improvements.
  • Strong experience with React and TypeScript, building modern, responsive front-end applications.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL and relational database design.
