The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing, cross-functional squad, where innovation meets impact. You’ll help build scalable, cloud-native systems using the latest in AI, automation, and modern architecture. You’ll be involved in product development, architectural decisions, and engineering culture, writing clean, well-tested code and collaborating with peers.

Responsibilities

• Code That Matters: Design, build, and maintain robust full-stack solutions across the platform using TypeScript, AWS, GraphQL, and more.
• Own the Stack: Take full ownership of the frontend, backend, and infrastructure you write and the systems you build.
• Innovation First: Integrate AI and automation into products to solve real-world problems.
• Collaborate & Learn: Engage in pair programming, code reviews, and technical discussions that drive engineering excellence.
• Build It Right: Apply a test-driven mindset with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Keep It Running: Ensure security, scalability, observability (DataDog), and performance in production.

Qualifications

• Senior-Level Expertise: Experience as a Senior Engineer or multiple years in software engineering roles.
• API & Data Mastery: Building resilient APIs (REST/GraphQL) and managing backend services & databases.
• TDD Enthusiast: Proficient with testing frameworks like Jest, Pact, and a quality-first mindset.
• CI/CD Experience: Experience shipping code with GitHub Actions or similar; ability to keep pipelines green.
• Observability & Reliability: Experience with monitoring/alerting tools (DataDog).
• Proactive Problem-Solver: Self-motivated, independent, and able to tackle complex technical challenges.

Interview Process

We want a fair and transparent process. Stages:

1. Stage 1 – Screener call with our recruitment team to learn about Collinson, values, and role fit.
2. Stage 2 – 30-minute call with the VP of Software Engineering to discuss the team, projects, and your background.
3. Stage 3 – Tech test at home (about 1 hour).
4. Stage 4 – Final 2-hour session with engineering team to review your technical test and discuss job-specific scenarios.
