Lead Tech Recruiter / Software Engineers - Edinburgh

Well-established Software House that develops SaaS products for the Healthcare Industry using modern technologies is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join one of their Agile teams in Edinburgh. Modern tech and hybrid working are on offer. The organisation has a strong technical environment and reputation, with a focus on modern technology and quality practices.

They develop large-scale SaaS products designed to improve efficiency and accountability within the healthcare industry and are a market leader in their field. The company operates several squads, each responsible for one or two products, with modern cloud-based products that are widely used by millions. They work with a modern tech stack including .NET Core, Azure, and Angular, and are tech-agnostic about the exact stack as long as strong software engineering practices are followed.

Responsibilities

The role involves joining a small agile squad (circa 5 people) to contribute to design, development and delivery of software following best practices. You will work on modern cloud-based products and apply solid software engineering principles.

Required qualifications

• Commercial experience with most of the following: Modern .NET (C#, MVC, .NET Core, Web API)
• Databases (ideally SQL Server)
• Cloud services (Azure, AWS or GCP)

Desirable qualifications

• Microservices
• Elastic Search or Apache Kafka
• Experience or interest with AI

Technical practices

The company places strong emphasis on software development best practices (SOLID principles, Design Patterns, RESTful APIs, Unit Testing, Test-Driven Development). Engineers who embody these practices fit well.

Salary and benefits

Salary ranges from £50k to £58k (flexible). Hybrid working in Edinburgh, roughly two days per week. Benefits include annual share scheme, 33 days holiday, pension, private medical and dental via BUPA, life insurance and time off to volunteer/extended career breaks, among others.
