Senior Software Engineer (TypeScript/React) – Lace / Identus (IOG) is a technology company focused on blockchain research and development. We are known for a scientific approach to blockchain development, emphasizing peer‑reviewed research and formal methods to ensure security, scalability, and sustainability. Our projects include DeFi, governance, and identity management, with the goal of advancing blockchain technology globally. Lace is a light wallet platform from IOG that provides Web3 features for managing digital assets, NFTs, DApps, and DeFi services. Lace aims to evolve with features such as a DApp Store, mobile app, digital identity solutions, and more.

What the role involves: As a Software Engineer at IOG, you will write high‑quality code for our products and work with cutting‑edge research and technology aligned with market needs. You will collaborate with software architects, product managers, project managers, formal methods specialists, and QA engineers, communicating professionally and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Follow Agile software development practices
• Work with teams across multiple time zones
• Work independently on software development tasks
• Be proactive and require minimal supervision or mentoring to complete tasks
• Review specifications produced by architects and formal methods specialists
• Contribute to the design of algorithms
• Write clean, straightforward, efficient code that satisfies acceptance criteria and specifications
• Commit often and submit small pull requests frequently
• Cover code with unit, property, and integration tests when applicable
• Review pull requests of teammates
• Fix bugs in your code and in legacy code
• Integrate software components and third‑party libraries
• Verify and deploy programs and systems
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software
• Write documentation for the code and technical user manuals
• Be knowledgeable of the basics of cryptography

Requirements

• 5+ years of development experience (JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, or other relevant languages)
• Experience with Git and Git workflows
• Practical experience with Agile software development methods
• Knowledge of functional and object‑oriented programming paradigms
• Experience in Self‑Sovereign Identity domain (W3C/DIF/Aries), VC/VP, DIDCommV2
• Experience with React/React Native
• Write idiomatic code that satisfies given task acceptance criteria
• Write tests (unit, property) with adequate coverage
• Document code and APIs clearly and concisely
• Ability to break down tasks into sub‑tasks and report progress
• Adhere to sound software engineering principles (modularity, incremental development, avoiding premature optimization, etc.)
