As a Software Engineer with a focus on testing, you’ll work in a cross-functional team of software engineers to ensure that we have automated methods to identify potential problems. You’ll implement new test automation frameworks as well as maintain existing ones. Working closely with other teams using tools such as Selenium or K6s (to validate the functional performance aspects or service), this dynamic team will help ensure that Civica’s test standards drive great customer outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web (including cross-browser), API, and backend systems; ensure high-quality end-to-end reliable software releases.
• Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, Insomnia or K6s to validate the functional performance aspects or service.
• Collaborate with developers across engineering teams; offer guidance on product design from an automation perspective.
• Partner with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews; contribute towards improving overall quality of codebase.
• Analyze test results; report bugs; work with cross-functional teams ensuring timely resolution.
• Contribute documentation & decision-making processes around tools & techniques used by team.

We’d Like You To Have Experience With

• Experience in test automation focusing on developing/maintaining reliable & scalable automated test frameworks
• Proficient in one/more programming languages: Python/JavaScript/TypeScript
• Understanding REST APIs architecture including REST/SOAP APIs; how-to-test/integrate APIs w/postman/K6s
