2/2 rotations – Offshore from Great Yarmouth. A Senior Structural Engineer is required to work primarily offshore on barge campaigns to support Southern North Sea and Dutch sector assets, on a variety of brownfield modifications and integrity related repairs.
As the Senior Structural Engineer, you will be working on a 2/2 rotation with the possibility of some onshore working days.
Responsibilities
- Carry out engineering survey of structural elements identified as requiring replacement or repair.
- Provide engineering sketches for reinforcement/replacement/modification of steelwork in accordance with standards.
- Review and approve lift plans.
- Carry out structural checks of structures for lifting/scaffolding/laydown proposals.
- Report progress to barge supervisor and participate in weekly progress meetings.
- Liaise with plant inspector and review inspection findings and carry out integrity checks accordingly; determine repair/replacement solutions where required.
- Coordinate with material coordinator to order required supply of loose material for offshore fabrication.
- Raise site queries to ensure visibility by all team members of scope growth.
- Provide support as required for other disciplines: mechanical & piping, rigging, E&I, etc.
- Issue signed-off sketches/drawings to Shell DCC.
- Check and approve calculations and ensure scopes are executed offshore in accordance with design drawings.
- Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
- Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on emerging issues.
- Ensure compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards.
- Ensure that all work complies with Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate.

Qualifications / Experience
- Brownfield project experience desirable.
- Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry preferable but not essential.
- Suitable design experience within other engineering industries will be considered where appropriate.
